Description

This elegant blue and white floral “Broken China” necklace is made from vintage china that is hand-cut, then shaped and bezel-set into sterling silver. The china pattern in this piece is Copeland Spode “Blue Flowers.” Wonderfully “Shabby Chic”!

The necklace features beaded sterling wire around the edge, a lovely hand-pierced scrollwork pattern cut out on the back, and is accented with a lustrous Edison pearl bead. Truly a one-of-a-kind piece.

The china “stone” measures 1 1/2″ wide by 1 3/16″ high, and the pearl bead is 3/8″ wide x 1/2″ tall. The necklace is 18 1/2″ long and features a delicate long-and-short chain. (Can be shortened on request.) The back is marked “Kimagine”.

To make the pendant, I marked the shape on the china, nipped it to a rough shape, and then ground the edges smooth with lapidary equipment. I then made a custom sterling setting for the piece, and sawed out the scroll pattern on the back.

Since this is made from a real, vintage item, there may be areas where the china has a few scratches and scuffs, or some minor chipping. Consider it part of its vintage charm!
