Description

A spoonful of gems! This elegant pendant is made from a vintage silverplate teaspoon, and features a cluster of tumbled Blue Apatite gemstone chips in the bowl. The apatites are a cool, summery Caribbean blue.

The name Apatite comes from the Greek word ‘apate’, meaning ‘deceive’. Most apatite is mined in Brazil and India, but there have been some spectacular neon-blue gems found in Madagascar.

To make this pendant, I cut the handle off the spoon, and then I carefully grind and polish the cut edge smooth. I punch a hole to accommodate a sterling jump ring, and add the cluster of gemstone chips. Since this is a real, vintage item, there may be areas where the plating is worn, and there may be a few minor scratches and scuffs. Consider it part of its vintage charm!

Metaphysically, Apatite helps in tapping into the dreams and the subconscious mind to find answers to deep-rooted problems of the daily life. It clears up emotional “clutter” and gives one a higher perspective on situations and viewpoints. It is a powerful influencer of communication, compassion and insight.

A 17″-18″ ribbon/cord necklace is included. If you would like a different color or style of necklace – see the last photo for available colors and styles – please put the color you want in the “Message to Seller” section. I have a limited selection of longer lengths available, please convo me if you need something longer!
